We are a diverse coalition of voters in Oregon, spanning different faiths, ethnicities, and generations. We call upon all Democrats and people of conscience to refrain from endorsing candidate Biden until his administration ceases its support of, and stands firmly against, the genocide in Gaza. We believe the horrible events of October 7th cannot justify Israel’s actions and the Biden administration’s support.
Join us by writing in Uncommitted on or before May 21 in Oregon’s Democratic Presidential Primary. Let us hold the Biden administration accountable, as their actions contradict their call for a ceasefire.
How To
You must be registered to vote as a Democrat on or before April 30.
When your ballot arrives, fill in the Write-in bubble and write “Uncommitted” on the empty line.
Make sure to return your ballot by May 21.
Demands
We join more than 22 states and over 600,000 voters nationwide in demanding that the Biden administration:
Force Israel to implement an immediate and permanent ceasefire throughout Palestine, as 80% of Democrats want,
Immediately cease the billions of dollars in military aid to Israel, in accordance with US law that prohibits funding suspected war crimes, and
Ensure safe passage and distribution of humanitarian aid in Gaza at the volume and urgency needed to save lives.

A: Although Oregon is not a swing state, it is a Democratic stronghold. Oregonians have a unique chance to send a powerful message: Democrats care about Palestine. Democratic voters don’t want their Tax Dollars to be used for ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinian people. By participating in this campaign, we contribute to the nationwide effort pressuring the President and the party to change course. Our goal is a permanent and enduring ceasefire, along with immediate humanitarian aid release at the necessary volume and urgency to save lives.
Q: Who is organizing the Write In Uncommitted campaign in Oregon?
A: We are a diverse group of engaged voters across Oregon, spanning various regions and representing a wide range of age groups and professions. Inspired by the original Vote Ceasefire campaign in New Hampshire, this movement has garnered widespread interest nationwide. Our shared goal is to address the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. We stand united in urging the Biden Administration and other elected officials to advocate for an immediate and lasting ceasefire, and release of humanitarian aid to Gazan civilians to save lives.
Q: Who else has done this?
A: Hundreds of thousands of voters in 23 states and counting have used their primary ballot to demand the Biden Administration take action with different campaigns:
Vote Ceasefire: MA, VT, WA, CA, NH
Uncommitted: WI, WA, HI, MN, AL, TN, CO, IA, MI
No preference: NC, MA, NV, KS
Leave It Blank: NY, GA, NH, ME, OH
Q: Why should I write-in “Uncommitted” instead of voting for Marianne Williamson?
A: We think writing in “Uncommitted” is a specific, direct message to the Biden Administration that we demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire, an end to military support of Israel, and abundant humanitarian aid to Palestinians NOW. It clearly captures and amplifies this essential, urgent message. A candidate brings a policy platform of issues we can’t separate out from this demand. Writing “Uncommitted” sends an unequivocal and clear message NOW.
Q: Would you vote for Biden in November?
A: Our campaign opposes the ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinian people. We urgently call on President Biden to secure a permanent ceasefire, expedite humanitarian aid, and change US policy to be more in line with US and international law as well as humanitarian principles. Given the urgent and dynamic situation, our focus must be on addressing Gaza’s urgent needs now, while also planning for long-term solutions.
Q: Will voting Uncommitted help Trump?
A: May is a primary election. Biden and Trump aren’t running against each other yet, that will happen in November. Biden has already secured the Democratic nomination. When you write “Uncommitted” you’re telling the Biden administration they have to earn your support today, and your vote in November, by demanding a permanent ceasefire now.
We join more than 22 other states and 600,000+ voters nationwide in demanding that the Biden administration comply with the wishes of 80% of Democrats.
